The ongoing shortage of allied health professionals in Scotland means that it is critical for well-trained graduates to join the workforce with confidence.Robert Gordon University’s (RGU) School of Health Sciences has extensive experience of what it takes to ensure its graduates are prepared for supporting the population needs across health and social care, in a rapidly evolving sector.The school collaborates with NHS Scotland to develop courses which ensure that students are developing and refining the wide range of skills required by allied health professionals in the workplace today and into the future.

This summer saw the first graduates from the innovative four-year integrated Master’s degrees in dietetics, physiotherapy, occupational therapy and diagnostic radiography; courses which enhance the depth and breadth of knowledge and skills in leadership, service improvement, research and public health.

In addition to their approval by the Health and Care Professions Council, these courses are approved by the British Dietetic Association, College of Radiographers, Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Royal College of Occupational Therapists.RGU actively engages students in the learning experience, enabling future professionals who can think critically about theory, analyse complex information, solve problems, implement solutions, evaluate outcomes, and instigate sustainable positive change across a wide range of healthcare settings.
