THE Great British Bake Off judges have issued a warning to fans ahead of the new series starting on Channel 4. Fans were left unsure if the programme would return as planned on Tuesday following Her Majesty The Queen's death on Thursday.

However, bosses at the station have given the green light for the new series to begin as planned in its usual 8pm timeslot. Ahead of viewers seeing judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith return to the big tent with presenters Matt Lucas and Noel Fielding, they've warned fans they might not agree with their views.

Speaking to the Mirror, Paul, 56, said in some weeks they had to go out of their way to find faults with the contestant's creations. "There was a couple of weeks where we had to sort of sit down properly and break things down to little faults that they may have had, which, in the end, sent them home," he revealed.

He continued: "It’s hard. It’s getting really difficult. “I don’t want them to make a mistake, it just makes our life easier if they do.” Most read in TVsoap switch EastEnders return date and time confirmed after being pulled for Queen's deathTELLY RESHUFFLE ITV announces major schedule shake-up tomorrowback on BBC One reveals when normal TV schedules will return after Queen's deathcorrie blimey Loose Women star Denise Welch shares throwback snap with King Charles III The warning comes as Prue added how much fans get invested in the original BBC One show - and even recounted one time she was stopped in the supermarket.
