Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

manchestereveningnews.co.ukThe latest series of The Crown will premiere on November 9, Netflix has revealed. The fifth series of the hit show, which dramatises the lives of the Royal Family, will feature storylines surrounding the lives of the then Prince Charles and Princess Diana.
Dominic West, known for his role as Jimmy NcNulty in the Wire, will star as Charles, with Elizabeth Debicki, who featured in the Night Manager, appearing as Diana.
Josh O’Connor and Emma Corrin had depicted the pair in the previous series. Imelda Staunton will take over the role of the Queen from Olivia Colman, while Jonathan Pryce replaces Tobias Menzies as the Duke of Edinburgh and Lesley Manville will be Princess Margaret, following in the footsteps of Helena Bonham Carter. Filming on the latest series of The Crown was halted following the death of the Queen and, as a mark of respect, filming was also suspended on the day of the Queen’s funeral.
