Joe Otterson TV Reporter “The ‘Burbs” TV series adaptation at Peacock has cast five series regulars, Variety has learned. Jack Whitehall (“Jungle Cruise,” “The Afterparty 2”), Julia Duffy (“Palm Royale,” “Newhart”), Paula Pell (“Girls5eva,” “Saturday Night Live”), Mark Proksch (“What We Do In The Shadows,” “The Office”), and Kapil Talwalkar (“Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist,” “Night Court”) have all been cast in the series version of the 1989 dark comedy of the same name.
In addition, Nzingha Stewart (“Cross,” “Daisy Jones and the Six”) has boarded the show as an executive producer and will direct the first episode.
The new additions join previously announced lead Keke Palmer in the show, which was picked up straight-to-series at Peacock in September 2024.
The official logline for the show states, “Set in present-day suburbia, ‘The ‘Burbs’ follows a young couple (Palmer, Whitehall) who have reluctantly relocated to the husband’s childhood home.
