Teyana Taylor talked to Apple Music's Ebro Darden about The Album, which she intentionally dropped last Friday on Juneteenth (June 19), and the iconic Black women who influenced the whole project.Just from the album cover, Taylor channels legendary model Grace Jones's cheekbones and high top fade. "The same way I got straight to the point with the album being called The Album is what I wanted to represent as a woman, as a Black woman that's really doing it.

Embracing my features, embracing my strong features, embracing my roots," she said in the interview. "My mom plays a big part in that, Black woman plays a big part, Black culture played a big part in that.
