Supermarket giants Tesco and Lidl have blown shoppers away with 16p and 13p own-brand food which people love. The supermarkets have been praised by shoppers for offering such a tasty meal for just pennies.
Posting on the Scrimping on a Budget Facebook page, Janine ODoherty said: "Taste test… Spaghetti Hoops, £1 from Tesco and 16p from Lidl… Lidl Hoops are the winner!
The sauce is thicker, hoops are nice and firm, my teenage experts were as surprised as me! A saving of 84p per tin." Shoppers rushed to praise the 16p Lidl spaghetti hoops, with many saying they prefer them to Heinz.
Other shoppers went to suggest Tesco's own-brand version, which is even cheaper at 13p a tin. Heather Grant said: "The lidl 'wigley' tinned spaghetti is lovely and the aldi ravioli in a tin." Jill Tinklersaid: "I buy tescos value range hoops, they are 13p a tin!!
