Two residents at a care centre for young people were talked down from the building’s roof last night.The teenagers from Kibble, in Goudie Street in Paisley, climbed onto the roof of the building around 8.20pm, prompting staff to call for assistance from the police, fire brigade and ambulance service.Eye witnesses reported a siege-like emergency services response, with one saying the unit was evacuated as a result of the incident.Don't miss the latest headlines from around Renfrewshire.
Sign up to our newsletters here.Police in Paisley said that after three hours, specialist officers managed to talk the pair down from the roof without any physical force being required.They were subsequently arrested and charged with breach of the peace and culpable and reckless behaviour.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police received a report of a disturbance involving two females on the roof of a premises on Goudie Street in Paisley around 8.25pm on Sunday.“Officers attended and two females, aged 14 and 15, have been charged in connection with the incident.
They will be reported to the Children’s Reporter and the Procurator Fiscal.”Kibble offers care to young people aged between five and 25.
