Teenage boy seriously hurt after being hit by a car

A teenage boy was taken to hospital in a serious condition after he was hit by a car in Stretford. The 14-year-old was crossing Edge Lane, near to the junction with Cromwell Road, at around 7pm on Saturday (January 22) when he was hit.

Officers are appealing for information on the collision. Anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage is advised to get in touch with police.

A GMP spokesperson said: “ We are appealing for information after a teenage boy was seriously injured in a collision in Trafford. “At around 7pm on Saturday 22 January 2022, the 14-year-old was crossing Edge Lane, near the junction with Cromwell Road, when he was involved in a collision with a car - believed to be a white Mercedes. “The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene but left a short time later. “Officers are appealing for anyone with dash cam or CCTV footage from the area at the time.” Anyone with information can contact police via roads.policing@gmp.police.uk quoting 2595 22/02/22.
