A teen has proposed to his pensioner girlfriend and hit back at trolls who criticise their relationship. Giuseppe D'Anna, 19, caused a stir on Tik Tok after sharing a video of him popping the question to his 76-year-old partner.

The young lad, who boasts 191,000 followers on the video app, posted a compilation of the couple's romantic journey on Tuesday, with one image showing his proposal.

He is pictured on one knee with his girlfriend holding a bunch of heart-shaped balloons as the couple share a passionate kiss, the Mirror reports.

The clip has racked up more than 138,500 views and is captioned ''La nostra promessa'.
