Tam Courts Dundee United exit decision backfires as he leaves Budapest Honved after TWELVE games

Tam Courts has left Budapest Honved as his decision to leave Dundee United and go abroad turns sour. It's been a horrible start to the season for the former Tannadice head coach, who guided the Tangerines to a top six finish and Europa Conference League football during his first term in charge.

His side have won three of their first 12 league matches and is departing the Hungarian outfit after a 2-0 win against Zalaegerzeg on Saturday.

A statement from the club reads: " Tam Courts is leaving the Budapest Honvéd bench after our club terminated the contract with the head coach by mutual agreement.

The Scottish specialist took over the management of the Honvéd in June 2022, after summer training and significant changes in the squad, he sat on the bench in Kispest for the first time at the start of the 2022/2023 season. "He managed our club in a total of 12 league and 2 cup matches, in which he had 5 wins, 4 draws and 5 defeats, and he played an important role in the inclusion of several of our academics in the senior team."We thank Tam Courts for what he has done for the Honvd, and we wish him the best of luck in his future career!" It's been a turbulent time for United too since his exit, with successor Jack Ross already sacked and replaced by Liam Fox as they sit in the Premiership's bottom spot. READ NEXT
