Talented Ayrshire musicians release 80s-inspired summer hit with college label

Two former Ayrshire College students have released their second song together under the school's record label. Talented songwriter Dionne Aird, known as Dio Zelus, from Kilmarnock, and producer Daniel Beattie, Bluewave, from Saltcoats, released the track under the college's record label, Sun Turtle Records, earlier this month.The duo joined forces to create an 80s-inspired bop entitled 'Lullaby' after the success of their debut release ‘What I Want’ in November 2021 which went on to be featured on BBC Introducing in Scotland, The Skinny and Amazing Radio.And the pair – who have recently signed a new three-single deal with Sun Turtle Records – have enjoyed lightning striking twice with their record played on BBC Radio Scotland again.Dionne, who has just finished her HND at the college, was inspired to write the catchy summer track after reflecting on toxic relationships.

The 22-year-old said: "I wrote Lullaby while reflecting on codependency within toxic relationships.
