Manchester City fans have been sharing their love for their club's new home kit this morning. Taking to Twitter, City revealed their shirt for the 2022-23 season.

As to be expected, the jersey is predominantly sky blue but has a notable maroon trim around the collar and sleeves. Explaining the choice of design on the club website, City said that the kit takes inspiration from their late 1960s shirt which was proudly worn by Colin 'The King' Bell. "The new Manchester City home kit is a fitting tribute to classic City home kits styles of the past," said Marco Mueller, senior head of product line management teamsport apparel. The maroon trim was an important detail because this was an iconic colour seen on many of the previous City home kits. "The jersey is a great homage to the entertaining teams of old and the exciting free-flowing football of the current City team." On the inside collar of the shirt is a fitting tribute to Bell in the form of a crown next to the PUMA logo.

Speaking about the nod to his father, Jon Bell said: "As a family, we’re incredibly touched that the club and PUMA have chosen to remember the teams of the late 1960s and my dad with next season’s home kit – it’s a beautiful gesture.
