Stunning images on show at Motherwell Photographic Society's latest meeting

At the latest meeting of Motherwell Photographic Society, club member Rodger Shearer gave two presentations.The first one entitled “The Abandoned Journey” mainly focussed on a project on abandoned industries that he had undertaken as part of his college photography studies.The images were predominantly black and white and showed abandoned buildings and factories in West Lothian and Lanarkshire that had been left to decay, creating new landscapes.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.

The exhibition, showcasing the work of SQA Higher Photography students, was displayed in the Scottish Parliament building in Edinburgh.Rodger’s second presentation contained a wide variety of images including photographs taken on safari in Africa, old Co-Operative buildings from around Scotland and stunning Scottish landscapes.The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all the members.

They appreciated Rodger taking the time to share his photographic journey and fantastic images.The Hugh Shaw Memorial Trophy competition will take place at the next meeting on Thursday, March 30.
