A student who wrote his dissertation on Bruce Springsteen gave a copy to the rocker on stage at his Edinburgh gig. Nathan Collet, 22, made his way to the front of the 73-year-old singer's Murrayfield concert and managed to catch his eye by holding a sign saying: 'Can I give you a copy of my thesis'.The delighted fan had made the 186-mile trip from his home near Liverpool to hand the star a copy of his research paper titled: "Brilliant Disguises: An Analysis of Masculinity Through the Works and Life of Bruce Springsteen".Nathan told the Record: "I've been a fan of Springsteen since I was 10.
When he announced the tour I decided I was going to try and give him a copy of my dissertation myself."For a whole year I've had people saying to me 'you'll never be able to get it to him, you'll never get close enough'.
During his set he read my sign and pulled an impressed smile. "Later he was going past again and I held up my dissertation and he took it.
He had a look at it on stage and said it was very nice before putting it down near the drum kit."Nathan had taken his dad along to the gig and said the pair celebrated the 'surreal' moment like it was a 90th minute winner.
