Strictly Come Dancing star Ellie Simmonds has admitted she’s nervous about being the first to be in the dance off. The Paralympic swimmer also opened up about fears over her height difference with Strictly pro Nikita Kuzmin and her hopes that the public will back her so she’s in with a shot of taking home the highly-coveted Glitterball trophy.

Last night's launch episode saw all of this year's couples dance for the first time, but nobody will face the dance off or go home until next weekend.

Speaking exclusively to OK!, Ellie confessed: “One of the things I’m nervous about is not getting votes and being in the dance-off.

If I got the Glitterball it would go in my house in Cheshire. I’d put it in my office on my desk. “It shows if I can do it – and I’ve seen the likes of Rose [Ayling-Ellis] who’s changing the world of disability and inclusivity – then people watching at home can adapt it to them, too. “Yes, I’m nervous about what it’s going to be like.
