STRICTLY bosses are welcoming back over-60s celebrities after reluctantly ruling them out last year because of Covid. Oldies had to quickstep aside when insurers refused cover.
Now, to minimise the risk of infections on set, bosses will insist all cast be jabbed as soon as it is offered. Some of the BBC show’s most memorable contestants have been over 60, including Ann Widdecombe and John Sergeant.
A source said: “Last year’s ban was a shame to some older hopefuls desperate to take part. “Now the seniors are being welcomed back with open arms, which is great news for viewers who like watching showbiz veterans have a go. “Last year was seen as a triumph to get the show away under a Covid secure set.
