Stockport man died from stab wound in neck after Brinnington 'altercation', inquest hears

A Stockport man died after being stabbed in the neck just after Christmas, a coroner has heard. Dylan Towers died on December 29, 2021, in Manchester Royal Infirmary — 12 days after an ‘altercation’ in Brinnington.

The incident on the Stockport estate saw Mr Towers, 35, receive a ‘stab to the neck’, a police coroners officer today said when a coronial hearing into his death was opened. A post-mortem carried out on New Years Eve by Charles Wilson found the cause of death to be 1A — stab to the neck. However, Dylan received more than one wound in the attack, PCO Catlow added.

She said: “The deceased received a number of stab wounds during an incident on December 17, 2021 and later died in Manchester Royal Infirmary on December 29. “He was admitted to MRI (Manchester Royal Infirmary) by ambulance on December 17 and remained under their care until his death. “A male has been charged with murder since.” Assistant Coroner Andrew Bridgman also heard that Mr Towers, of Alvanley Crescent in Adswood, was single and unemployed at the time of his death.
