Crocked Rangers veteran Steven Davis admits he "feared the worst" after picking up a horror training ground injury last year.

The 38-year-old’s season is over after suffering a devastating double ACL tear during a freak training ground accident just before Christmas, and faces a battle to return to his best under Michael Beale.

The stricken Northern Ireland skipper - whose Rangers deal expires this summer - has been warned it could take anywhere from six months to a year before he’s able to resume action.Record Sport understands a deal could be waiting on Davis should he prove his fitness levels, but the Ibrox hero admits his worst fears were realised when he found out the extend of the injury but is hopeful about his Scottish Premiership return hopes.
