Stephen Robinson insists he would have kept Eamonn Brophy in Paisley if the club hadn’t had to cut costs. And he refused to shut the door on the Scotland international coming back into the St Mirren fold next season if the ‘wolf’ proves his fitness up in the Highlands.
The 26-year-old striker joined Ross County on loan earlier this week, with Saints academy youngsters Lewis Jamieson and Kieran Offord returning from their loan spells with Clyde and Alloa Athletic respectively to plug the gap up front.
