Last month, he postponed his shows at Butlins during the October half term due to his father Christopher's death. In a statement released last night a spokesperson for Stephen told OK!
that he had been drinking after being given anaesthetic during a procedure earlier in the week.This is the statement in full.
The rep said: "Stephen has had an incredibly tough time over the past few weeks. His beloved father recently passed away which has hit him hard and has been understandably very stressful. "In addition he had a procedure which took place yesterday (Wednesday).
