Todd Spangler NY Digital Editor Spotify was sputtering Sunday morning, with thousands of users reporting technical problems accessing the streaming service.
User error reports for Spotify began spiking around 10:45 ET a.m. on Sept. 29, reaching more than 9,000 complaints by 11 a.m., according to uptime monitoring service Downdetector.
In Spotify’s desktop app, some users were greeted with the error message, “Something went wrong,” and attempts to play songs and albums were unsuccessful.
The streamer’s smartphone apps were unresponsive as well for many users. On Sunday, the Spotify Status and Spotify Cares customer-service accounts on X did not immediately indicate any issues with the service.
