The Canary Islands are set to be battered by Storm Oscar, bringing heavy rain, winds of up to 55mph and possible flooding, UK holidaymakers have been warned.

The islands are a popular tourist destination with Brits but this week the weather is set to turn. The Met Office has warned that the storm could bring massive waves and possible flooding.

The largest and most popular islands of Tenerife, Gran Canaria and La Palma are all expected to be hit, The Mirror reports. It’s expected that the western most islands will be especially hard hit.

Lazarote and Fuertevntura will be less affected, but could still see heavy rain. While the storm can ruin a sunny holiday, travellers also need to be cautious of the storms and the possible danger it could pose to them.
