South Ayrshire Budget: Council tax to be set as proposals kept under wraps

South Ayrshire in the upcoming year’s budget, it is understood.The current SNP, Labour and Independent administration are proposing a ‘carbon budget’ to tackle climate change.Politicians are due to sit down and vote on the contents of a revenue budget of roughly more than £260 million during a private meeting on Thursday.South Ayrshire Council has received £2.1 million from the Scottish Government to go towards keeping council tax at the same level as last year.The carbon budget would look at what generates emissions and investigate how to reduce them among other measures.Politicians are also due to decide on their pay for the upcoming 12 months.South Ayrshire Council carried out an online survey on the budget as part of consultation..
