‘SNL’ sends love to Dana Carvey after son Dex’s death as Carvey takes break from acting

Dex died from an accidental drug overdose on Nov. 15. He was reportedly discovered unresponsive in the bathroom of a Los Angeles home by his girlfriend, Kaylee Chen.
He was pronounced dead around 10 p.m.Overwhelmed by the love and support from family, friends and fans, Carvey, 68, shared a message of gratitude on Saturday.“This is just to say thank you,” he posted on Instagram and X. “We received so many beautiful messages from people who knew Dex.
These touched us more than we could ever express in words.”The “Wayne’s World” star revealed he will be stepping away from comedy to focus on his family and grieve his son.“I will be taking a break from work and social media — trying to figure out what life looks like now that we are a family of 3,” Carvey wrote. “We will heal the best we can and carry on.
