The new £44m visitor attraction will officially open its gates to the public on Tuesday, May 18. The 154-acre garden in Worsley is the biggest hands-on horticultural project undertaken in Europe since planning permission was granted in 2017.

Located at the former Worsley New Hall estate on Occupation Road, the site is the first ever RHS Garden to be located in an urban area.

The huge project started out as a derelict Victorian garden that had been untouched for 100 years - with volunteers describing it as a “muddy swamp”.
