Irrfan Khan passed away on April 29. The actor has delivered stellar performances in Bollywood and Hollywood. He has worked closely with Mira Nair on three projects. The duo worked on Salaam Bombay!, and The Namesake before they worked on an anthology film, New York I Love You. Irrfan was cast opposite Thor: Love And Thunder actress Natalie Portman. While the actress paid a tribute to the acclaimed actor on social media, the filmmaker spoke to the New York Times and shared her thoughts on Irrfan's demise. 

The world is currently mourning the passing away of one of the greatest performers of all time, Irrfan Khan. The actor, who graced both Bollywood and Hollywood with his remarkable performances, passed away at the age of 53 on April 30. Following his demise, various celebrities paid tribute to the iconic actor and the latest one to join the list is Irrfan’s Jurassic World co-star Chris Pratt. Calling him an exquisite actor, the 40-year-old actor wrote, “So sad to hear about the passing of screen legend Irrfan Khan.”

The loss of one of India's finest actors Irrfan Khan on Wednesday was not just mourned in India but by the film fraternity from across the world. Irrfan, who has quite a few Hollywood films to his credit, not just inspired actors back home but left an indelible impression on Indian American actors as well. Many such stars took to social media on Wednesday to pay a heartfelt tribute to the actor and mourn his loss.One of them was Irrfan's 'The Namesake' co-star Kal Penn who shared a couple of pictures from their film. Penn wrote, "Irrfan’s art and humanity will be badly missed. Never seen someone use the beats of silence so beautifully to convey so much about who we are. Sending love to Sutapa and the family. #IrrfanKhan." 

India and the world mourned the loss of an actor, legend and master of his craft -- Irrfan Khan on Wednesday. The 'Paan Singh Tomar' actor passed away on 29 April in a Mumbai hospital as he succumbed to colon infection. Social media was flooded with tributes to the legendary actor including from Irrfan's Hollywood co-stars and Indian American actors. One of them was Irrfan's Slumdog Millionaire co-star Freida Pinto. The Hollywood actress who made her debut with Slumdog Millionaire recalled how lucky she was to have Irrfan as a role model while she took her first steps.

Irrfan Khan's untimely demise at the age of 53 is nothing short of shocking as Bollywood lost a true gem, whose talent knew no bounds. It wasn't just Bollywood though, that was under Irrfan's talented spell but Hollywood too was lucky enough to be blessed by the versatile star. It was in 2015 when Irrfan starred in the blockbuster movie, Jurrasic World, which helped revive the successful Jurassic Park franchise. The Colin Trevorrow directorial, which starred Chris Pratt as the lead character, saw Irrfan play Simon Masrani who was the owner of Jurassic World.

SLUMDOG Millionaire actor Irrfan Khan has died after a colon infection at the age of 53, his agents have confirmed. The Bollywood star, who also featured in Jurassic World, passed away in hospital Mumbai, India.

India will temporarily stop all film, television and digital productions from March 19 through 30 as a response to the spreading novel coronavirus pandemic.
