Sky News star Kay Burley has shared a shocking health scare that left her "covered in blood" at home, shaking fans. After a remarkable 36-year run, the celebrated news anchor took an emotional bow from Sky News.
A pioneer of the channel since its inception in 1989, she has piloted the morning show slot since 2019, beginning her days early by perusing briefing notes post-shower and tuning into BBC World Service, setting the tone for her show.
But, leaving audiences wide-eyed today, she announced during the closing of the breakfast segment it was her final day on air.
In her leave-taking, Burley reflected: "After over a million minutes of live TV news, more than anyone else in the world, it's time for me to indulge in some of my other passions, including my love for travel." She continued with her surprising declaration: "So, after covering 12 separate general elections, including Sir Keir Starmer's victory last year, I am retiring from Sky News.
