The Waterhouse, on Princess Street, was evacuated when debris dropped from the ceiling just before 9pm on Monday evening (July 12).

Police, fire crews and paramedics were called to the scene and a cordon was put in place. A spokesperson for JD Wetherspoon has now confirmed that plaster fell onto six customers who were inside the pub at the time.

All six were assessed by paramedics. Two women were taken to hospital for precautionary checks, the fire service said yesterday.
