Simon Cowell is reportedly set to marry fiancée Lauren Silverman in an extravagant ceremony next month. The Britain's Got Talent judge, 62, proposed to Lauren, 44, with who he shares eight year old son Eric, on a romantic holiday in Barbados at the start of the year, and Simon recently explained he would be taking control of the wedding plans.

And just five months of engagement, the music mogul is said to believe that there's "no point in delaying" their nuptials. "He has taken charge of the planning, and the date has been set for June," a source has revealed.

They continued to The Sun: "The ceremony is going to take place in London, with their son Eric front and centre, naturally." It was added that the couple were "looking forward" to celebrating their big day with family and friends, with the father of one "wanting to get Lauren up the aisle as quickly as he can".

OK! has contacted representatives for Simon and Lauren for comment. Last month, Simon said he was planning the huge event as he doesn't want it "getting out of control like his 50th birthday" – adding that the ceremony will be a surprise for all guests and even the bride herself. "I am planning it all, otherwise I know what will happen — there will be 600 people and it'll get out of control, like my 50th birthday party," he told The Sun. "No one knows when it's going to be — that'll be a surprise, even for Lauren." He went on: "But I don't want to have one of these ghastly wedding planners and all the arguments that happen, and who you do invite and who you don't invite. The whole thing just seems like too much hassle." A source close to the loved-up couple revealed exclusively to OK!
