Air pollution has been high on the agenda in Manchester, with wrangling over the Clean Air Zone proposal ongoing and the city experiencing an ozone pollution episode last week.
It's even led to mum's calling for schools to be closed if pollution levels are particularly high, with just three of 452 sites across Manchester recorded as within the legal limit for nitrogen dioxide also compliant with the latest WHO guidelines.

Speaking to the Manchester Evening News about high pollution levels last week, one of the mums said: "This has long-term effects on our lungs and can cause asthma attacks.
We need more measuring and monitoring in schools. We need to look at the issue of how parents and teachers can protect children when there are spikes." "Potentially schools should have to shut in Manchester when there are high levels of pollution." Not everybody was in agreement with the suggestion though, with one of our readers commenting: "The world has gone mad." Others also shared their thoughts, with one person adding: "kids should be in school more, not less," while another said: "next, we'll be closing the school if one of the kids breaks wind!" However, not everybody was in disagreement, with one reader responding: " We know when we breach pollution limits, we know this affects young and old people.
