Shoppers arrived at a huge Tesco store in Greater Manchester to find completely bare shelves on Sunday (September 29). Parts of the frozen aisles at the superstore on Huddersfield Road, in Oldham, were left empty.

A sign greeted them at the entrance explaining that due to a 'major power outage' there was 'limited availability' on frozen and fresh produce.

Pictures taken from the store showed a number of completely empty freezers and fridges, with other shelves only stocked with a few items. A customer notice at the entrance read: "We apologise, but due to a major power outage we have limited availability of fresh and frozen products.
