Shameless star Tina Malone appeared on Good Morning Britain today, where she opened up about her views on healthy eating following her 12st weight loss. The actress, 60, who amassed an army of fans after portraying Mimi Maguire on Channel 4's Shameless, showed off her dramatic transformation while discussing the difficulties many people face when trying to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Tina chatted with GMB hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway in a heated debate on whether or not a kebab curfew should be introduced to help curb unhealthy eating habits in the wake of the ongoing obesity crisis, particularly after bakery chain Greggs' recent court case win allowing its stores to sell sausage rolls throughout the night.

Tina, in favour of a ban, revealed she ate "nothing but kebabs" while pregnant but has since made changes which have seen her shed 12st - though she does still struggle with craving sweet treats like chocolate. The former Brookside actress said: "As somebody who has always struggled with my weight having lost 12 stone and it's difficult in the current times we live in, the challenging times we live in. "We all tend to look for different crutches.

I think I am more likely to go in and get a sausage roll and the pasties - everything in moderation - if it's at the end of my road and it's open at 12 at night. "It's like everything - I'm 25 years sober, 10 years drug free but if you have an addictive personality, if something is tempting you the more likely you are, especially in these difficult times." Things got a little heated as Tina went back and forth with guest Ibrahim Dogus, founder of the British Kebab Awards, who was keen to stress how healthy the fast food snacks can be.
