Shakira's Mother Hospitalized Just Months After Father's Severe Health Complications
perezhilton.comOur hearts are with Shakira and her loved ones right now. Sadly, the 46-year-old singer’s mom Nidia del Carmen Ripoll Torrado has been hospitalized in Barcelona, reportedly after suffering a blood clot in her leg.
According to Spanish network Telemundo, Nidia was originally believed to have suffered a stroke, but now outlets are reporting her ailment is related to deep vein thrombosis — and has not affected her brain. Thankfully, she’s been reported to be “out of danger” now and will most likely get to go home within the coming days. Whew! So far the Hips Don’t Lie singer hasn’t made any comments on her mom’s health, but this could delay her decision to move again.
Late last year her father, William Mebarak Chadid, suffered a fall and required extensive surgery after being hospitalized.
