Seven Rangers fans were arrested in Liverpool after Tuesday's Champions League clash at Ibrox. Merseyside Police confirmed the supporters, who had travelled to England for the first competitive clash between the two clubs, were arrested over alleged affray and drunk and disorderly offences.

All of those arrested by cops remain in custody in Liverpool this morning.Superintendent Dawn McNally, of Merseyside Police, previously said there would be "a large number of officers on duty" on the day of the game to cope with any potential policing issues.A spokeswoman for Merseyside Police said on Wednesday morning: "There were seven Rangers fans arrested mainly for alleged affray and being drunk and disorderly.
