‘Scrubs’ Writer Eric Weinberg Arrested Again for Alleged Sex Assaults, Goes Free on $5 Million Bail

Forms seeking clarity from the LAPD and district attorney’s office were in process.Investigators say Weinberg leveraged his extensive Hollywood resume, which included writing and producing stints on shows including “Scrubs” and “Californication,” to lure young women to his Los Feliz house under the pretense of a photo shoot.
Once there, he would begin to make unwanted advances up to and including forcible rape – a pattern reported by several women, including some who were underage, before police finally became engaged.One detective told THR that police had not yet “scratched the surface” after Weinberg’s first arrest, made for 20 criminal counts in July.Weinberg’s wife, who has filed for divorce, was instrumental in drawing investigators’ attention to her husband’s patterns of behavior with young women, some of whom contacted her directly after their experiences with Weinberg.
