Scottish Government announces no new Covid deaths amid 345 cases in last 24 hours

coronavirus in the last 24 hours. The latest figures for Scotland showed that 345 new cases had been identified overnight, bringing the total number since the pandemic began to 228,423.

It means the death toll since last March – of people who first tested positive for the virus within the previous 28 days - remains the same at 7,661.

There are currently 65 people in hospital confirmed to have the virus with 6 being treated in intensive care.2,948,604 people have received the first dose of vaccination, with 1,526,889 getting their second.

It comes after a blow to Scots holiday makers, as popular tourists  destinations  including Spain, Greece and France were missed off the 'green list' in Scotland's new traffic light travel system.
