Scots school kids left screaming after pet dog 'hit by car and dragged up street'

An East Lothian mum has told how her kids were left screaming after seeing the family dog hit by a car and dragged up the street.

Denise Steele told how two-year-old Bonnie bolted out of the garden of their Wallyford home and into the path of a red Mini on Tuesday, April 4.The terrifying incident, which was witnessed by the two children, aged eight and five, as well as Denise’s husband, has been reported to police who are due to come and see the family.

The English bulldog was left with several nasty cuts on her head and legs which were treated by a vet. Denise alleged the car failed to stop following the incident despite her husband 'shouting'.

The waitress told Edinburgh Live : “Bonnie ran out the garden and a red Mini came up the road and hit her, dragging her up the road.
