A Scots school girl who caught Strep A was left fighting for her life in hospital after her GP failed to spot the symptoms - twice.

Ellie Young began experiencing a sore throat and vomiting at the end of October and was given a telephone consultation by her local doctor's surgery Oak Lodge Medical Practice.
