Glasgow man has told how an operation to mend his broken femur after a joke went wrong led to him being diagnosed with a rare cancer and having his leg and hip amputated.

Jake Woods, who is originally from Newcastle but made Glasgow home five years ago, spent lockdown in hospital after being told he had a primary bone cancer called Osteosarcoma.

Jake ended up in hospital after a night at the pub that his shock diagnosis would come to light.He said: "In February 2020, I was in the pub with my brother and we'd been putting our knee into the back of each other's to make them fall over for a laugh.

He did that and my femur snapped in half."That happened down south and they transferred me back to Glasgow."Jake then underwent an operation to put.
