Scots band The Vintage Explosion performed on This Morning after Sir Rod Stewart's endorsement skyrocketed their career.Sir Rod, 78, declared the Scots singer had "the best white-soul voice I've heard since Frankie Miller" after being sent a YouTube clip of The Vintage Explosion performing.

Speaking to a journalist, the Hoops-daft singer declared his love for the band and showed a video of the group performing A Change Is Gonna Come and asked for The Vintage Explosion to get a special mention in the piece.The band appeared on Thursday's instalment of the ITV chat show to discuss their newfound fame, thanks to Sir Rod.

Speaking to hosts Alison Hammond and Craig O'Doyle, lead-singer William Hitchell said the recognition had changed his life. "To get an endorsement from a worldwide star is just what you would completely dream of as an artist," the 42-year-old vocalist said.
