Daniel Wroughton Craig (born 2 March 1968) is an English actor. After training at the National Youth Theatre and graduating from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in 1991, Craig began his career on stage. Scots actor Dougray Scott has spoken about how James Bond producers approached him to replace Pierce Brosnan before he lost out to Daniel Craig.

Dougray is all set to star in Irvine Welsh's new drama Crime on Britbox, where he plays the hero, Ray Lennox, an Edinburgh policeman on the trail of a murderer.

And in an interview, he spoke about the parts he never eventually played including the chance to be 007 in Die Another Day - and his refusal to star in Lord of The Rings.Dougray, who was born in Glenrothes, told The Times newspaper: "They certainly approached me, but at the end of the day all that matters is that Daniel Craig played Bond and he was great."I'm not sure if it was ever for me."They first talked to me about it five years ago
