Sarah Cawood feared telling her kids of cancer diagnosis after losing friend to disease
msn.comdiagnosed with breast cancer. The TV personality, 50, revealed this month that she had been diagnosed with stage one cancer, which was picked up during her first-ever mammogram.
Sarah is staying positive in the face of the diagnosis, and says she feels ‘lucky’ it was discovered so early, having now undergone a lumpectomy and due to begin radiotherapy.
Now the former Top of the Pops star has opened up on the moment she told her children, and how worried she was about their reaction after she recently lost a friend to the disease.
Speaking on Tuesday’s episode of Loose Women, mum-of-two Sarah spoke about dealing with the diagnosis, and admitted it was ‘triggering’ having ‘lost a friend last year at 33 to an aggressive cancer. ’She explained that her friend Faye, who died last year, was a ‘school mum friend’ who her children knew about, and it made her even more worried to tell her son and daughter.
