Rylan Clark announces break from radio show as he's tipped to replace Phillip Schofield on This Morning
ok.co.ukFresh from presenting at the Eurovision Song Contest last weekend, Rylan Clark has officially announced he will be taking a break from his day job presenting his BBC 2 radio for a “fair few weeks.” The announcement came shortly after it was revealed that Phillip Schofield had sensationally quit his role as a presenter on This Morning after 21 years of delighting audiences with his laid back presenting style.
Although no news has yet been shared about which star will take over from Phil, several names have been floated as a potential replacement, including Rylan himself.
So far, the front runners appear to be Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, who already present the show on Friday, but given Rylan’s announcement on Saturday, bookies have slashed the odds on him taking over the role instead.
Speaking on today’s show, Rylan told his listeners: “Now this is where I should say ladies, I won't be catching up with you next week, because I am off to do some other bits and bobs. “So I'm not going to be here for a fair few weeks.” Rylan, 34 then cheekily assured fans that he “definitely” won’t be having “more fun” away from the BBC, but did remain strangely ominous about where exactly he would be instead.
