Rutherglen Glencairn boss Willie Harvey says his side is back to full strength and ready to go on a run that can take them up the West of Scotland First Division. But he says getting a run of league games, and at home, is easier said than done as they negotiate their way through the Scottish Junior and West of Scotland League Cups.Harvey says the stop-start nature of the current fixtures means it’s difficult to get momentum going, but pointed out their display in the 3-1 win over Renfrew a fortnight ago was much closer to what he wants to see.Glencairn were due to visit Harvey’s old club Blantyre Vics on December 17, but winter weather put paid to that on the Friday. And he said: “We had started to get a bit of momentum together, but that seems to be the way with us.“It’s stop-start with us and that’s really disappointing because we’ve got players back from injury who are starting to get their fitness and game-time is needed.“In every game they get better and better, and if we can keep everybody fit then we want to go on a run.

It would have been ideal to get games under our belt before Christmas and New Year to get points that would take us away from the bottom of the table.“The two matches I’ve had my full squad for we’ve gone out, played really well and won.

We’ve scored goals as well.“In the Renfrew game we could have easily scored six or seven, with the amount of chances we made.

But we’ll take a 3-1 win like that all day, if that’s what we get.”Glens are not back in action until Saturday [December 31] when they travel to Gartcairn.Follow Lanarkshire Live Sport onTwitter via@LanLiveSport, like us onFacebookor find us onInstagramfor the latest sports news, pictures and video.
