Russell Watson has emotional birthday in camp as he recalls brush with death

Emotions were running high in the I’m a Celeb camp last night as Russell Watson celebrated his birthday. The tenor, who almost died in 2007, admitted each birthday is incredibly special to him and that is he ‘glad to still be here’ after his terrifying health battles.

The 54-year-old received the news nobody wants to hear back in 2006 – that of a brain tumour – which turned his whole world upside down at the time.

Luckily, the tumour was successfully removed but in 2007, just a year later, Russell suffered another and almost died while suffering a haemorrhage in his sleep.
