Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.

On top of the coffin at Monday's state funeral was a handwritten note from King Charles to his mother, which appeared to read, "Loving and devoted memory" and was nestled in a floral arrangement, which are full of touching meanings.The flowers attracted the little arachnid who crawled over the note, unbeknownst to its significance, during the service.
One person tweeted: "There was a spider on The Queen's coffin. As a spider fan, I am elated! Luckiest spider in the world." Another remarked: "Did anyone else spot the spider catching a ride on Queen Elizabeth II coffin?" One royal fan thought the Queen may have enjoyed their presence saying: "It's said that the Queen loved it when things went awry.
I think she'd love the bishop dropping his paper on the floor as well as the spider in her flower arrangement." The spider could have come from one of the royal gardens as the flowers were sourced from Buckingham Palace, Clarence House and Highgrove House, and all lovingly chosen by her eldest son King Charles.The beautiful bouquet also had a special connection to the Queen's late husband, the Duke of Edinburgh as it included a sprig of Myrtle from her wedding day.
