Royal Bank of Scotland has shared data which reveals the top four websites which have been reported by users for online scams.

The bank said Facebook Marketplace is the most reported site for online scams, followed by Instagram, eBay and Gumtree, indicating that cybercriminals are targeting users on social networking platforms and auction websites.

The festive period is the busiest shopping time of the year with the recent Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales events kicking the season off in style as bargain hunters ramp up their search for top deals, but sadly some are being left out of pocketCommon scams often feature goods at heavily discounted prices, something which more people are looking for during sales season.
