Robin van Persie has already outlined his expectations for the next permanent Manchester United manager after the Old Trafford giants held talks with Erik ten Hag.
Further discussions are planned after United settled on the Ajax coach as their preferred candidate to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
A man who needs no introduction, Van Persie has been mooted as a potential assistant to Ten Hag amid suggestions United want a former player to take up that role.
The 38-year-old spent three campaigns as a player at United - scoring 58 goals in 105 appearances and winning the Premier League in 2013.
