Katy Perry

Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known professionally as Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter, and television judge. After singing in church during her childhood, she pursued a career in gospel music as a teenager.

Perry signed with Red Hill Records and released her debut studio album Katy Hudson under her birth name in 2001, which was commercially unsuccessful. She moved to Los Angeles the following year to venture into secular music after Red Hill ceased operations and she subsequently began working with producers Glen Ballard, Dr. Luke, and Max Martin.

After adopting the stage name Katy Perry and being dropped by The Island Def Jam Music Group and Columbia Records, she signed a recording contract with Capitol Records in April 2007.

Rihanna was the only pop girl in the world that anyone was talking about over the weekend - and, it turns out, for very good reason.

Her much-hyped Super Bowl Half Time show - dubbed the Fenty Bowl by fans - was a hit across social media and those numbers have reflected the success of the show in general.

According to Nielsen Fast National data and Adobe Analytics (first reported by Fortune) the Fenty Bowl averaged 118.7 million total viewers, making it the second-most viewed Half Time show in history...and even more viewed than the Super Bowl game itself (you know - that American football game they were playing before the Rihanna concert).

Katy Perry's candy-coloured 2015 Half Time show still ranks superior, however - still holding the record for the most-viewed Half Time show ever, with 121 million eyes on it in total.
