Saints full back Richard Tait is hoping to draw a line under one-point results and start bagging wins as the season kick-starts again tomorrow. The versatile defender has grown frustrated at the number of matches finishing level as they played out more stalemates than any other side in the Premiership in the opening spell of the season.Since the end of October, Jim Goodwin’s men had to share the spoils with Motherwell, St Johnstone, Livingston, Ross County, Hibs and Celtic as they bagged ten draws in the opening 20 fixtures.Recent losses to the likes of Rangers, Hearts and Dundee - contributing to a winless streak stretching back to October 16 - has seen the Buddies slip to ninth in the top table, just five points clear of the Perthshire Saints in bottom spot.Tait believes it’s time for the Paisley side to put full points on the board, starting with a trip to Tannadice to face Dundee United tomorrow night. He told St Mirren TV: “If we are honest with ourselves, in the first part of the season we should have picked up more points than we did.“We had a lot of draws so that will be an aim in the back end of the season, to turn those draws into victories and get three points.”Tomorrow’s trip to Tannadice will be St Mirren’s first match in more than three weeks following the winter break. And although Tait believes it’s important for players to be allowed to recharge the batteries mid season, he’s keen to get going again. He added: “It’s good to be back training and back to business.“It’s important you get a break.

It recharges the batteries and you can reset your mindset.“But at the end of the day that’s what we’re here for - to play football - so I’m looking forward to the games starting next Tuesday.”
